1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using the Showrooms.pk website, mobile application, or any services provided through the platform (collectively, the “Platform”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must immediately cease all use of the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of any amendments to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of such amendments.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Showrooms.pk, operated from Lahore, Pakistan (“Showrooms.pk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract under the laws of Pakistan.
2. Account Types & Registration
Showrooms.pk supports two distinct account types, each with separate registration processes, capabilities, and obligations:
User Account (Buyers)
- Registration requires a valid Pakistani mobile phone number in the format +923XXXXXXXXX.
- Authentication is performed via OTP sent to the registered mobile number via WhatsApp during registration, followed by password-based login for subsequent sessions. You may also log in via OTP.
- User accounts enable browsing verified listings, saving favourites, contacting dealers via real-time chat, submitting reviews, making counter-offers, and filing reports.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Dealer Account (Sellers)
- Dealer registration requires submission of a valid CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card), business name, and showroom address.
- Dealers undergo a multi-step verification process that may include NTN (National Tax Number) verification, physical premises inspection, and business documentation review.
- Verification status directly affects the dealer's Trust Score (see Section 4) and the features available to them on the Platform.
- Dealer accounts enable listing vehicles, managing inventory, generating invoices, responding to buyer inquiries, and accessing analytics.
- Providing false or misleading information during the verification process constitutes grounds for immediate account termination and permanent platform ban.
3. Platform Description
Showrooms.pk is an online marketplace that connects prospective car buyers with trust-verified car dealers across Pakistan. The Platform provides the following services:
- Trust scoring: A proprietary, independently calculated dealer trust score on a 0–10 scale, based on verified documentation (CNIC, NTN, business registration, physical verification), profile completeness, and business maturity.
- Verified listings: Car listings with condition scores, inspection data, and full vehicle specifications. All new listings require admin approval before going live on the platform.
- Dealer profiles: Public dealer profiles displaying trust tier, verification status, customer reviews, and business history.
- Communication tools: In-platform messaging and inquiry systems connecting buyers with dealers.
- Marketplace infrastructure: Marketplace hubs, city-based browsing, filtering, and search tools.
- Dealer CRM: Inventory management, invoice generation, lead tracking, and analytics dashboards for registered dealers.
4. Trust Score System
The Showrooms.pk Trust Score is a proprietary metric assigned to every registered dealer on the Platform. The score is calculated on a continuous scale from 0.0 to 10.0 and is publicly visible on the dealer's profile and all associated listings.
Score components:
- Document Verification (0–2.5 points): Phone verification (+0.5), CNIC verification (+0.5), NTN verification (+0.5), business registration verification (+0.5), and physical premises verification (+0.5).
- Profile Completeness (0–2.0 points): Basic information, showroom photos, description, social media links, services, and return/warranty policies.
- Business Maturity (0–2.0 points): Based on verified years since establishment — from 0.5 points (1+ year) up to 2.0 points (10+ years).
- Performance (0–3.5 points): Reserved for future implementation. Will incorporate customer reviews, response rates, and operational metrics.
The Trust Score is mapped to six tiers: Entry (below 2), Basic (≥2), Standard (≥4), Established (≥6), Premium (≥8), and Elite (≥10). Each tier determines the features, listing limits, and platform privileges available to the dealer. Full details are available on our Trust Score page.
Showrooms.pk reserves the right to modify the Trust Score methodology, weightings, tier boundaries, and penalty structures at any time without prior notice. Such changes will be applied prospectively and will not retroactively alter previously confirmed enforcement actions. Dealers will be notified of significant methodology changes through the Platform.
5. Dealer Obligations
By registering as a dealer on Showrooms.pk, you agree to the following obligations:
Listing Accuracy
All vehicle listings must accurately represent the vehicle being offered for sale. This includes but is not limited to: make, model, year, mileage, price, colour, transmission type, fuel type, registration status, customs clearance status, and any known mechanical or cosmetic defects. Images must be actual photographs of the specific vehicle being listed.
Condition & Inspection Data
Dealers must provide a condition score and inspection data for every listed vehicle. This information is published directly on the listing and is visible to all buyers. Dealers are responsible for the accuracy of all condition claims and inspection details they provide.
Business Conduct
- Respond to buyer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain an active, operational business at the registered showroom address.
- Keep all verification documents (CNIC, NTN, business registration) current and valid.
- Cooperate with unannounced platform audits conducted by Showrooms.pk inspection teams.
- Remove listings promptly when a vehicle is sold or no longer available.
- Comply with all applicable laws of Pakistan, including but not limited to the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965, the Sale of Goods Act 1930, the Pakistan Penal Code, and all relevant provincial motor vehicle regulations.
6. User Obligations
By using Showrooms.pk as a registered user or visitor, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information. All information you provide during registration, in reviews, in reports, or through any communication on the Platform must be truthful and accurate. Misrepresenting your identity or providing false contact information is prohibited.
- Do not file false reports. The report system exists to protect buyers. Filing fraudulent, malicious, or knowingly inaccurate reports against a dealer constitutes abuse of the Platform. Users who file false reports may have their accounts suspended and may be held liable for damages caused to the affected dealer.
- Do not harass dealers. While you have the right to ask questions, negotiate, and express dissatisfaction through reviews and reports, engaging in harassment, threats, abusive language, or intimidation of dealers (whether on-platform or during in-person visits) is strictly prohibited.
- Respect the platform. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform. Do not use automated tools or bots to interact with the Platform without express written permission. Do not interfere with the Platform's security features, trust scoring system, or infrastructure.
- Exercise independent judgment. While Trust Scores and inspection reports provide valuable signals, you are ultimately responsible for your own purchasing decisions. Always inspect vehicles in person, verify documentation at the relevant excise and taxation office, and engage a qualified mechanic before committing to any purchase.
7. Listing Rules
All vehicle listings on Showrooms.pk must comply with the following rules. Violations are subject to listing removal, score penalties, and potential account enforcement action:
- Vehicles must be real. Every listing must correspond to a specific, physical vehicle that the dealer currently possesses or has legal authority to sell. Listings for vehicles not in the dealer's possession are prohibited.
- Images must be actual. All photographs must be original images of the specific vehicle being listed. Stock images, images from other listings, images of different vehicles of the same model, or digitally altered images are prohibited.
- Pricing must be honest. The listed price must reflect the genuine asking price. Dealers must not list artificially low prices to attract inquiries and then quote higher prices upon contact (“bait pricing”).
- No phantom listings. Listings for vehicles that have already been sold, are not available for sale, or are used solely to drive traffic to the dealer's profile are prohibited. Dealers must remove or mark as sold any listing within 24 hours of the vehicle becoming unavailable.
Listings must accurately state the vehicle's customs clearance status (customs-paid or non-customs-paid), registration details, assembly type (local or imported), and whether any outstanding bank loan or lease exists on the vehicle. All new listings are submitted for admin approval and will not appear publicly until approved.
8. Reports & Disputes
Showrooms.pk operates a structured report and dispute resolution system designed to protect both buyers and dealers. The system is built on human review, fair process, and proportionate enforcement.
The Platform supports the following report categories: fraud, spam, fake review, harassment, duplicate listing, wrong information, and other. Reports can be filed against listings, dealers, users, reviews, or conversations. Each report includes a description field for the reporter to provide specific details.
How reports are handled:
- Admin review. Every report is reviewed by a human administrator. Reports move through a status workflow: open, in review, resolved, or dismissed. Admins may contact the reporting party for additional information.
- Dealer defence. Dealers are notified of reports filed against them and are given the opportunity to respond and provide evidence before enforcement action is taken. For serious allegations, listings may be placed on hold during investigation.
- Proportionate enforcement. If a report is confirmed, the admin team determines the appropriate action — which may include warnings, listing removal, trust score adjustments, or account suspension. Both parties are notified of the outcome with a resolution note.
In addition to reports, users may initiate disputes for more complex issues. Disputes have priority levels (low, medium, high, urgent) and include a threaded messaging system for communication between the admin team and involved parties.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Platform and its contents, including but not limited to the Showrooms.pk name, logo, branding, design, user interface, source code, Trust Score algorithm, scoring methodology, tier system, and all associated documentation, are owned by or licensed to Showrooms.pk. These rights are protected under the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan Act 2012, the Copyright Ordinance 1962, and the Trade Marks Ordinance 2001.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any content or materials on the Platform for any commercial purpose without the express written consent of Showrooms.pk. This includes, without limitation, the Trust Score data, dealer rankings, scoring algorithms, platform analytics, and aggregated marketplace data.
User-generated content: By submitting any content to the Platform — including reviews, ratings, comments, listings, photographs, inspection reports, and profile information (“User Content”) — you grant Showrooms.pk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content in connection with the operation and promotion of the Platform. You retain ownership of your User Content, but you acknowledge that Showrooms.pk may continue to display reviews and trust-related data even after an account is deactivated or terminated, to preserve the integrity of the trust ecosystem.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Pakistan, Showrooms.pk, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with:
- Any vehicle transaction conducted between a buyer and a dealer through or as a result of using the Platform.
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information provided by dealers, including vehicle descriptions, inspection reports, pricing, or documentation claims.
- Any loss, damage, or injury resulting from a buyer's reliance on Trust Scores, inspection reports, reviews, or any other information displayed on the Platform.
- Any dispute, claim, or cause of action between a buyer and a dealer arising from a vehicle transaction.
- Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or transmissions.
- Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Platform or any services provided through it.
Our liability for confirmed Trust Score inaccuracies, platform errors, or enforcement mistakes is limited to correcting the Trust Score, reversing the enforcement action, or issuing a public correction on the dealer's profile — at our sole discretion. In no event shall Showrooms.pk's total aggregate liability exceed PKR 50,000 (fifty thousand Pakistani Rupees).
Notwithstanding the above, where a dealer engages in confirmed fraud (including but not limited to selling non-customs-paid vehicles as customs-paid, concealing accident history, or odometer tampering) that has been reported and confirmed through our dispute process, Showrooms.pk's obligation is limited to applying the corresponding Trust Score penalty, taking the prescribed enforcement action, and making the confirmed report visible on the dealer's public profile. We are not responsible for securing restitution, refunds, or compensation from the dealer on the buyer's behalf.
11. Termination
Showrooms.pk reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any user or dealer account at any time, with or without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of any provision of these Terms.
- Providing false, misleading, or fraudulent information during registration or verification.
- Confirmed fraud as established through the report and dispute process.
- Accumulation of Trust Score penalties that reduce the score below the minimum operational threshold.
- Failure to maintain an active, operational business at the registered showroom address.
- Engaging in conduct that is harmful to other users, dealers, or the Platform's reputation.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent platform security measures, scoring systems, or enforcement actions.
Users may deactivate their accounts at any time by contacting support at hello@showrooms.pk. Upon deactivation, your profile will be removed from public view, but reviews you have submitted will remain visible (attributed to “Deactivated User”) to preserve the integrity of the trust scoring system.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to any conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. By using the Platform, you irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to the laying of venue in such courts.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005 or the Consumer Rights Commission of Pakistan Act 2023, to the extent such rights and remedies cannot be lawfully limited or excluded.
13. Changes to Terms
Showrooms.pk reserves the right to modify, amend, or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page and, where practicable, provide notice through the Platform (such as a banner notification or in-app alert).
Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must discontinue your use of the Platform immediately. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
